Advisory 22-09: Prehospital Trauma Notifications
Providers are reminded of the importance in communicating through the Medical Control phone all trauma patients meeting any trauma center referral criteria that are inbound (whether 911 response or interfacility transfer) to Strong Memorial Hospital, the region’s only Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center. Calling Our Dispatcher
Please use the radio to contact dispatch vs the phone whenever possible. The multi contact methods can interrupt the dispatcher’s flow.
Strong Memorial Hospital Notification: Red Tape in Waiting Room
If you are triaged to the waiting room with a patient requiring oxygen, please utilize the two spaces marked with red tape on the floor. These designated spaces help remind staff to check O2 tanks. They are located just to the right of the public entrance of the waiting room. Please notify the RN that is at ambulatory triage if those spaces are occupied, and we will rearrange the patients.
Backup Rig Checks
As another option for backup rig checks there is now an option under the Rig Check field for backup rig checks that includes the minimum equipment checks necessary. This is an option available to get these backup checks done. You can still complete the ALS and BLS checks if you would like, this just provides another option for completing these checks.

Uniform Dry Cleaning
Dorren’s Dry Cleaning advised me earlier this week that they are a tad bit behind with dry cleaning as a result of the storm, and being short staffed. They are doing the best they can. Please plan accordingly, and let me know if you need anything in the meantime. Thank you. -Krissy

Quiet Charting Space
We have heard from some of you that it can be difficult to chart while in the lounge area. While we certainly don't want to minimize the interaction between team members in the lounge, we wanted to have an option for people to chart in a quieter space. The office in the training wing outside the clinical care office is available with a computer.
