IV Pumps
We've purchased two additional IV pumps that are stored in the center supply room. Programming mirrors that of the ones in the ambulances, and the kit contains a charger with two full sets for medication administration. These pumps should be used for ALS transfers with more than one infusion or SCT transfers with > 6 infusions. Please let the Ops Officer know if you are grabbing them for a transfer.
SMH Traffic Flow
Please note the below changes affecting traffic near the main SMH entrance and ED/EMS Parking area starting 9/21, with additional change to traffic flow starting 10/9.
CHS Blood Program
We are excited to announce that, beginning today, CHS is officially carrying prehospital blood products. To our knowledge, CHS is the first and only ground EMS service in New York State currently carrying blood. This milestone represents an incredible amount of work, including extensive research, equipment acquisition, clinical preparation, and operational planning. ASAP UTV
Our new ASAP UTV “Ambulance” has arrived. This vehicle will be stored at the Henreitta base and utilized for standby events and patients with challenging accessibility such as paths, trails or during significant weather events. A trailer will be available to transport the vehicle over longer distances. While the vehicle will not be a state certified Ambulance, the planned equipment setup allows for rapid access to patients and transport to an ambulance or treatment area.
