One of the cardiac monitors is currently outfitted with a new style black bag. We will be trialing this bag for the next two weeks. 2.20 NAUSEA / VOMITING CRITERIA Patient with uncontrolled nausea/vomiting and no evidence of head injury: 1. Attempt to treat cause of the nausea. EMT STOP 2. If nausea unrelieved by other interventions: Ondansetron (Zofran) 4 mg IV/IO/IM. Annual Health Screening: SIGN UP NOW
Sign-up sheets for the annual health screenings are in dispatch. April 5 (1630-1900) and May 3 (1630-1800). If you are unable to make either of these sessions, you will be required to go to Onsite by May 31 to obtain your screening. Health forms will be available in dispatch as the dates get closer.

Start of Shift Team Huddle - Starts Monday
Beginning this coming Monday July 8 @ 0700, each shift will start with an on-duty team huddle. The on-duty supervisor will be leading a quick briefing which will cover the day’s activities. Unless the supervisor is out on a call, huddles will be happening based on this schedule: Monday – Friday @ 0700 @ 0900 @ 1800 @ 2300 Saturdays @ 0700 @ 0800 @ 1800 @ 2300 Sundays @ 0700 @ 1000 @ 1800 @ 2300 The goal is to simply gather everyone together so we’re all on the same page for the shift.... read more
NEW MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION SIDE EFFECTS SHEET
One of the areas we’re focusing on with patients is advising them of potential side effects of the medications we’re administering. We’ve developed a simple ½ page sheet that lists the common medications we give as well as the potential side effects. Please consider giving this to your patient at some point before the transition of care at the hospital. It’s meant to be a reminder for the patient after the fact. Operational Checks - Philips Monitors on Saturdays
Starting Saturday, October 8th, Operational Checks of the cardiac monitors will be conducted each week on Saturday. Much the same way we check the oil, we will need to complete a form that will be located in the Shared drive Forms folder. When completed, please turn the form over to the on duty Operations Officer.
